In order to change your grips, follow these 5 steps:

1. Hold the golf shaft in a vise (if you don't have one, you can skip this optional step). They have rubber shaft holders that go around the shaft before you put it in the vice so that it doesn’t scratch the shaft.

2. Remove the old grip. Use a sharp knife to slice the old grip down the length of the shaft. Try not to scratch the shaft.

3. Clean the sticky adhesive off of the shaft. You can use Goo Gone or some other type of adhesive solvent to do this. Paint thinner works also.

4. Place grip tape on the shaft. Grip tape has adhesive on both sides. Try to space the tape evenly when wrapping it around the shaft. Leave about ¼” of extra tape at the butt of the club. Squeeze this excess tape together to seal the end of the golf shaft and stop anything from getting into the shaft.

5. Slide the grip on the shaft. While covering the hole in the end of the grip with a finger, put enough grip solvent into the grip so that it coats all inside walls of the grip. Put enough solvent in so that while now covering the holes of the grip at both ends, you can shake the grip and feel it shaking around inside. Get rid of any excess solvent that is inside the grip by pouring it over the grip tape that you put on the shaft. Both the grip tape and the inside of the grip should be coated with solvent.

Next, slide the grip onto the shaft. Holding the golf club in front of you with the clubface perfectly vertical pointing upward, places the topside of the golfshaft on top. Line up the alignment marks for the top of the grip down the center of the shaft. Let the grips sit overnight before you use them.
