Discount Golf Shafts

Welcome to the graphite golf club shafts store.  The number one difference between graphite golf club shafts and steel shafts is their weight. The main reason graphite shafts became popular is their ability to offer stiffness and durability while also being very lightweight.

Your golf shaft weight is the number one factor that determines the total weight of the entire club. Lighter club weight translates into the potential to increase your swing speed, which can increase the distance of the shot.

If you shave off 2 ounces of weight, that can add about 2-4 mph of swing speed, which in turn adds about 6-12 yards more distance. While graphite golf shafts may not be for everybody, you can try them out to see for yourself.  Our prices are less than retail, so take a look around at our wide selection of brands, flexes, sizes, and happy shopping!

A golf shaft is a part of golf club which is long in cylindrical shape usually made of graphite or steel or titanium (recently released). Shaft is the one which connects the golfer’s hands to the clubhead. There are hundreds of designs of shafts in the market and their primary use is to provide the player the way to produce the centrifugal force so that the player hits the ball straight.

In earlier days shafts were made of wood and these shafts made of wood withstood the power generated the golf swing but these didn’t have the flexibility required and needed a highly skilled player to handle it to produce reliable results. Later on, players began to use Fujikura shafts made of steel and this went on to become a grand success and still now the players use it. After few years later golf shaft pullers, then graphite shafts were introduced which was lighter than steel and later on titanium shafts were introduced and it was lighter than graphite.

Use of discount golf shafts in clubs

There are some of the key words associated with the shafts, they are:

•    Flex: this the measure of a golf shaft’s flexibility and this varies form one to another manufacturer. This flex, is commonly referred in the terms of stiff(S), regular(R), senior (A), ladies (L) and extra stiff(X).

•    Kick point: the point in the golf club shaft where it bends is called kick point. Some of the shaft models are designed by their manufacturers to flex at different points. Normally kick point nearer to grip end of the golf club tend to generate lower launching with lower spinning shots and kick points nearer to the golf club tend to generate higher launching with higher spinning shots.

•    Weight and length: these are used to mould a Golf Club to a particular player.

These shafts can be altered to suit a player’s profile.

To select a good golf shaft:

While choosing a shaft, see the flex of the shaft which suits your requirement. Flex can have big impact on your game as the other equipments you choose. Flex is important because your swing character depends on it. As mentioned in the flex above you can choose from those. A proper flex plays an important role in the alignment of the clubhead. Extra stiff flex should be considered only for extreme hard swing and tempo is the other characteristic to be considered.

Beginners purchasing new equipment should start with the flex recommended for their driving distance. Consider stiffer flex if players have jerky swing and fast tempo. If players having a carry of 250 then they can consider regular stiff.

If you have your equipments already then analyze your tendencies:

Players can consider stiff flex if they tend to drive the ball to left. Consider a more flexible shaft if they (players) tend to drive your ball to right or if players are not sure then they can go for more flexible shaft.

Swing speed is the most direct factor affecting shot distance. The lighter the total weight of the golf club, the higher the swing speed you will be able to generate with your club.

The weight your golf club shaft is the major factor in determining the total weight of all golf clubs. Golf club shafts can be as much as 130 grams (4.6 oz.) or as light as 40 grams (1.4 oz.). When you switches from an average steel shaft to an average graphite golf club shaft, the drop in total weight will be at least 50 grams (1.75 oz.).
